` Vintage Photography

d(-.-)b Sixpence Non The Richer - There She Goes

I'm going on a :

HIATUS

because I'm so caught up with my school work, tests [yes, even though the last week of school is approaching. those cruel cruel teachers =( ]

And also all those ballet rehearsals for the upcoming performance... which is terrible not to mention about the costumes. urghh.. the costumes... urghh... I'm sorry but I think the designer of our costumes regardless who he or she may be, is colorblind. One word: hideous.

There I said it.

And... I've lost my inspiration to blog now. I was nearly at the verge of shutting this site down. =/ Maybe the hiatus will give me some time in search of some inspiration. =)

And! I'm soooo caught up with vintage photography as well! I found someone in school who's got the same interest in vintage photography and yeshhh! Someone to talk with. We both talked for the whole break time about lomo-cams, polaroids and film cameras. Awesomeee!

And!!
if that's not enough, that person owns a Polaroid SX-70 Land Camera!! ZOMMGGGGG! Hahahaha!

ONE MAJOR REASON that would hold me back from blogging as well is the lovely Minolta X-300 film SLR camera! =D

My mom showed it to me a couple of months ago and finally got around to handling it when I found the manual online. =D If only it comes with the original Minolta lenses, but meh... Tokina 35 - 70mm should work and yeshhh, now all I need is to get some batteries, Fuji films and 'wrrr-click'! old school photography, here I come! =)

Before I end the post, let me show you the winning photography for the International Garden Photographer of the Year 2008:

So pretty right? I stared at it for a really really long time. It's just so breath-taking and such an amazing shot. =) I love it so much I think I'm gonna get it developed and frame it up. =)

For other winning shots of the International Garden Photographer, just click here: [click]

Okay, take care guys! And hopefully inspiration will strike me real hard so that I can blog well =)

` International Day

d(-.-)b My Chemical Romance - Helena

Okay, the whole cheongsam thing didn't work because apparently it takes like a month to make one??!!! I think the lady was just having a bad day and being ridiculous because she was being so pissy at me and my mom when we went to the shop.

So, I decided to borrow a yukata from Diyana! Thank's Dee!

And boy, that yukata took me forever to learn. Well actually, to be precise. It took me the whole night to learn after watching endless YouTube videos and reading some websites on how to wear one.

But in the end it all turn out well! And the obi was a success after less than 5 times of practices! =) I think I have Japanese genes in me to be able to learn how to wear it in one night =P My sister thinks so too, cause in Melbourne, she's always getting questions like: 'Are you Japanese?'

Oh and to let you guys know: It's DANG HARD TO BREATHE IN THE YUKATA! and i had to wear it for one whole day. Lol~ there was one point where I really wanted to strip of everything and have a long deep breath. Hahaha

I think its because I tied the inner two strings thing too tight. =/ The obi wasn't tight and I had fun wearing it because I stuffed all my money in it. =D A nice compartment but it gets awkward when people stare at you trying to fish money out of it especially when it's in a position that it's right below your boobs. -__-

Anyway, here's some pictures! =P

Vanessa was really into her whole being a Chinese gangster thing. She had like all these Chinese tattoos that her mom drew on her. Lol~ Matt wore this Elmo hat thing that was really cute and apparently Elmo is international because everyone knows who Elmo is. Hahaha

Oh oh! Me and Asha went to the mini International Food Fair to get the superb kebabs from the Sugar and Spice stall. *The kebabs are amazing! It's soooo good! Should add that to my list of favorite foods =P*

Ah yea, and when we came back, there's this Japanese lady walking towards us and she started giving me this questioning look. Thinking that she was lost in the school and couldn't find her way around, I returned that questioning look. That's when she asked...

'Are you Japanese?' with this small hint of hope in her look hoping that I'm Japanese or something.

I could have fooled her at that moment and said: 'Yea! I'm Japanese!' but then the thought of her suddenly speaking to me in Japanese terrified me, so I just said, 'No, sorry. I'm not.'

Turns out that the lady is Koki's mom. Lol~ Hahahaha so random. But she was really nice about it even thought the whole thing was kinda awkward for a moment or so. I think it's really said that there's not much Japanese in school besides Koki, and little Riko who's in Junior School. And I think there's a few more little ones from the Kindy or Junior section. =/

Yeap, that's about it. And MUSIC FOBISSEA IN TWO DAYS! TWO FREAKING DAYS PEOPLE! The past week was really long and we all dreaded as the days went by... lol~

I've got my shopping list ready and will update more on this maybe tomorrow! =D

Alright, have a nice weekend all! =)

` And I was so nervous, I nearly died

d(-.-)b The Cranberries - Linger

How many times have you listened to a song, and wished that the 'you' in the song is yourself when someone else is listening to it?

Found that phrase on this site and... wow, what a bittersweet one.

I'm so sick of my blog layout now and I'm thinking of making one like a minute ago with the potti.carrot header picture that I made over the summer holidays which was never used... because yea that blog was closed down.

And of course, being the potti.carrot header picture, the blogsite name is on the header and I was thinking, sure no problem, I'll just edit that. UNTIL...

I realized that my computer crashed, and my brother's pc has no form of photoshop programs on it. -__- And if I go download it or what-so-ever, he will get so pissed because apparently, that program will take up the space in the pc or something stupid.

*grrr*

Today.. was weird. Yes, today, the day when we played for Prince Charles and the Duchness during their one hour visit in the Empire foyer area.

And sadly, no, I did not take any picture because I was dang nervous and I couldn't even play properly when they were like 10 metres away from me and coming down the stairs from the lobby area!! My heart was beating so fast that I thought that I'm gonna have a heart-attack on the spot and die =x It was freaky. Lol~ Joanna and Nurul were really nervous as well when we saw them coming down from the stairs. =D

And no, I did not talk to them. In fact, I did not even get to see Prince Charles closely because he was attending the guests in the other half of the foyer area and the Duchness Camilla attending other half where the JIS orchestra are.

Dang those lucky ISB people. -__- They were playing in the other half where Prince Charles was attending.

Yea.. so the Duchness came and talked to every person for like 5 minutes. I bet her lips are tired from speaking when she came to us because all she did was asked Mr. E how many people are there in the orchestra, smiled at us and said, 'Sorry, I have to go. Hi, bye!' and walked off.

Well, at least I get to see her. Lol~ Mathew was really nervous and he was soooooo sure that Prince Charles and the Duchness are gonna talk to him because he's the concertmaster. And he kept asking and confirming the way we address the Royal Highnesses.

Guess what? We played from 9.30am, all the way to 1.30pm. That's like freaking four hours. All we had in between was a short break of like 15 min where we strolled around, go to the toilet and listened to ISB played in the other area. =/

*sigh* It's all good, getting to see Prince Charles 10metres away and the Duchness 3 feet away only getting to hear her talk. =) *haha*

Anyhoots! Ruby's Halloween party was a-okay for me =D I wasn't high however, so the whole dancing mood didn't get into me and stuff. But the drinks (=p) were good and the food was alright. =D

I dressed up as a gothic-ballerina but yea, looks like I don't look so gothic at all. Oh, and I caked on loads and loads of foundation to make my face really pale. =P My brother said I look ridiculous and stupid. -__-

Someone came as Britney Spears and it was silly. =P Hahahaha so.. pictures ahead! =)

We're greeted by the Grim Reaper at the entrance of the house leading us to the living room. Lol~ It was scary at first sight because the house was all dark and there were only candles. This picture was taken with flash if you're wondering =P

Pirng was really scary that night. Her make-up is so good. =) Makes mine look so silly like someone who just slapped on lots of foundation and used 1/4 of my liquid eyeliner for my eyes. =p

Just for thought...

Have you ever wondered how in life, you might have met and came across this person for like more than once but it's like both of you will never meet or know each other? Or either this person brushed past your shoulders for more than 10 times on a crowded street and somehow both of you will never meet each other.

That question just struck me this morning when I saw this someone. Like look so familiar but then not, then I recalled that I've seen this person in 2 other different places. =/ Lol~ so weird. Hahaha

Oh, do you know that the people that you meet in the plane, like strangers, are the people that you will not possibly meet again in your entire life. It's a fact and yea heard that from somewhere. =)

i love my cat. =D

I really do. There wouldn't be a day where I would not call out for his name looking for him and stroking him. =P

He accompanied me the around the house just now when I went around taking pictures because inspiration decided to strike me hard but yet it was ruined by the drizzling rain that came like ten minutes later.

But it was all good. Had some pretty good shots and all the pictures in this post are taken just now in the evening. =)

Alright, have a nice weekend guys!

` Waiting for It

d(-.-)b Goldfrapp - Caravan Girl

I'M VERY EXCITED FOR MUSIC FOBISSEA! =D =D

watch the promotional video for it done by the Tanglin Trust students =D

'and you can go clubbing if you're a party person' LOL~!!

Oh and Ms Gill was mentioned!! 'Really cool strings teacher.' Hahahaha!! I bet Mr E was smiling to that when he was watching the video! =P

To be honest, I'm still suffering from the 'blogger's block' that has apparently been passed on to Hui Zhen and Susan =P hahaha~

BUT! I will have stuff to blog about when I meet Prince Charles in the Empire!!! =D =D IF you guys don't know, Prince Charles is coming to Brunei for a visit with his wife the Duchess of Cornwall or something, but yea, the main point is... Prince Charles! =D

And he hasn't visited Brunei for more than a decade already and the JIS orchestra get to play during the luncheon and get to see him as well! =D

But the security's gonna be really tight and we have to bring our IC and stuff. SO.... find out more after this Saturday!!

Oh and Ruby's Halloween party on Friday night as well which might be fun? Lol~ depends on how people dress up and if I can go (have to yet ask my mom about it =/)

OKAY!! I'M STILL REALLY HYPER ABOUT MUSIC FOBISSEA!! Oh oh! Melissa Lee May and Susan Liew, we're leaving Brunei on the 10th November and staying till 16th November, so...

CLEAR YOUR SCHEDULES!!

I will prolly text you guys when I arrive or something and let you guys know when we're free to meet up =D Ahhh!! I'm so excited!

Two more weeks! Which includes, going through the horrible Maths test, boring Chemistry and Biology lessons, one more bloody VIOLIN LESSON! AND... International Day!! I'm gonna make a cheong-sam sometime this week and it will be ready in around 3 days time. =D

Okay, it's a pretty much hyped-up week with lots of events going on so, prolly will have loads of pictures to share and updates (FINALLY!) hahaha speaking of bloody violin lesson, today's lessons was terrible man, it was like one of my worst ones but...

not the worst when compared to the time when the bloody M threw this book towards the other end of the room while scolding me and this other student. Oh and broke this pencil when he got so furious while scolding. -__- That's why I'm freaking scared of going to violin lessons.

Well another reason is because I never practice, so I basically sight-read when I go for lessons. =/ But now man, it's so different and I can never do that anymore because it's freaking GRADE 8!! =( i tried doing that today during lesson, and the bloody M was like going: 'if you didn't practice, you should at least hide that okay.'

Grr... hot angry tears filled up my eyes man when I played. Okay, it's my fault for not practicing, so what? I'd love to see you try to squeeze in practice time when you've got endless orchestra rehearsals for the Royal's visit, ballet rehearsals for the upcoming recitals, homeworks that are constantly being thrown on, and worst of all,

the Music AS recital that's coming up in January and we're all still way below the passing border. November is coming soon and we won't be having much practice during December when we have the holidays, so technically speaking, we've only got 1 month left to practice. =(

I've been going home at 6pm from school lately. 6pm man! That's really tiring!!! Too many practices and after school stuffs. =( I miss having my afternoon naps and doing random carefree stuffs in the late afternoon.

Now when I get home, I'll usually take a shower, eat dinner then straight to finishing my homework and then off to bed. Then the same routine starts again the next day. =( I'm so sick of my life. Lol~ It's so sad. But yet, sometime, lessons in school can be fun especially with those crazy friends of mine. =D

Double Maths with Mr J was fun today. =D I haven't laughed like that in such a long time. It feels good. =)

Aaahh, so much for having a short post. Looks like it turned from a hyped-up post to a ranting post. Gah, I'm gonna go off to doing my homework now and counting down the days to Music Fobissea!! =D

Bye all!
